Divorce During Covid

We understand that the Covid Pandemic has certainly created unique hardships on families.   Couples who were already finding it difficult to live together are now facing extended periods of confinement.  Families who were financially secure may no longer be so and the financial hardship and instability that they are now facing along with the uncertainty of what the future may hold is insurmountable.  The reduction or loss of income, the dwindling savings accounts and 401Ks, and the stress created by a spouse who believes differently in the level of safety that needs to be taken to keep the family safe are all contributing factors to the rise in the divorce rate.

While many of the county courthouses are closed to the public, the courts are processing divorces via fax, email and mail.   If settlement is not possible in your matter, the Masters and Judges are now holding court sessions via Zoom meetings.
